Environmental Resource Permit

Also known as: ERP

An Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) is the Florida permit issued by the Water Management District (or DEP under delegation) for activities that alter wetlands or surface waters — dock construction, dredging, shoreline hardening, large-scale native-vegetation removal. Mechanical removal of state-listed prohibited invasives (hyacinth, hydrilla, water lettuce) generally does not require an ERP on private water bodies. Removal of native shoreline vegetation, especially in Outstanding Florida Waters, often does.
