What's growing in your water?

Answer 2 to 3 questions about where the plant is and what it looks like. We'll match it to the most likely species and tell you what to do next. Built around the field-ID guides we use for our own crews.

Step 1

Where is the plant in the water?

Pick the closest match to where you mostly see it.

When to skip the tool and send a photo

The tool covers the most common 15 species across Florida and the southern US. For unusual plants, hybrids (especially hybrid milfoil), or anything you suspect is a federal noxious weed, send us a clear photo through our contact page and we'll confirm. Same goes for any blue-green algae bloom — those need lab confirmation, not visual ID.
