Fluridone
Fluridone is a systemic aquatic herbicide active at very low concentrations (parts-per-billion). Used primarily for hydrilla, Eurasian watermilfoil, and other submerged invasives across whole-lake or whole-pond applications. Slow-acting (effects visible 30–60 days post-application) but durable when full lake concentration is maintained. Damages or kills native eelgrass and pondweeds at typical application rates — selective only at sub-lethal doses on a tight schedule. Resistance in hydrilla populations is documented in Florida lakes with repeated treatment history.
